Microsoft has contributed $100,000 to AbleGamers as a result of this sweeping sale, and that is a cause worthy of exploding on the internet with popularity. Hopefully, though, disappointed Windows fans may find refuge knowing that this sweater was made to help support the charity AbleGamers, which helps fund disabled game developers and efforts towards making video games more accessible to people of all needs. Sadly, the Minesweeper ugly sweater proved to be too powerful a nostalgia trip for anyone to pass up, as the sweater quickly sold out, and remains out of stock days later, as of writing. Instead of the score and clock at the top, the sweater makes note of 19, the year that the game was first released, and the current year. The top is framed to look like a Windows…well, window, complete with minimize, maximize and close buttons. This Minesweeper themed sweater has the traditional square grid from the game, shaped like a Christmas tree in the centre with a snow and mine filled motif around. There are also pixelated mines and snowflakes as well. The sweater turns the iconic squares filled with either numbers or bombs and re-shapes them into Christmas trees instead. Just in time for the holidays, the sweeper celebrates the beloved game that came for free with Windows 98 operating systems. Microsoft has listed their new classic Minesweeper ugly sweater on their official Xbox gear online shop.
